Trump is heading off to China to meet with President Xi today. Trump appears to like Xi and he sounds optimistic about the upcoming summit, but there’s a lot on the table. Energy, trade Argentina and Iran are but a few of the topics they’re bound to discuss. He’s a great negotiator but can he successfully negotiate all of those topics during this trip? We said that the Iranians were ‘playing us’ and we were absolutely correct. Their response to Trump’s peace proposal was a joke but nobody is laughing. Efforts to secure a broader peace deal between the United States and Iran are increasingly being complicated by the growing influence of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Trump says that we’re close to ‘a deal’ with Iran… but does it achieve all of our initial objectives or have we caved? And will the regime still be in place when the dust settles on this conflict. If they are, then how can we consider that ‘a win’. Won’t they just lick their wounds, reconstitute and come back stronger and more determined? Then again…might this ‘proposal’ be a ruse on the part of the President? Trump has put a pause on Project Freedom at the request of Pakistan. They’re claiming that Iran has a proposal we might like and he’s willing to listen. But we’ve been down this road before with Iran and it’s always lead to a dead end. It sounds as if he’s giving them one last chance, but his patience is wearing thin. If they’re playing games and trying to play him for a fool…they’re messing with the wrong guy. This may be their last ‘off ramp’. We talk about this and much more on another busy program. The Secret Service were engaged in a gunfight yesterday and shot a man with a gun just outside of the White House. This happened less than two weeks after the assassination attempt at the Washington Hilton. It’s seems to be happening more and more these days. This can’t be allowed to become a new ‘routine’…a new ‘normal’. The President of the United States of America, no  matter who he is, should always be safe and secure. But that feeling is dissipating. The Dems are very upset about a SCOTUS decision that outlaws racial gerrymandering. It could give the right a minimum of 12 seats…and probably multiples of that. It’s not that the Republicans are stealing them from the left. It’s that they’re getting back what was already theirs. Now…the ‘shoe-in' mid-term Democrat victory is in doubt and the left is going ballistic. The new ruling might actually increase the Republican numbers in Congress.
