It was away from the prison, in what appeared to be a hotel lounge. The prisoner was dressed in street clothes and he looked healthy and well nourished. And after the little get-together…back he went to the El Salvadorian prison. It was a ‘one and done’. The president of El Salvador made it clear that Mr. Garcia wasn’t going anywhere and the meeting was a courtesy and nothing more. Was it worth the trip Senator Van Hollen? You would think that Senator Chris Van Hollen would be more concerned with expediting the rebuilding of that destroyed bridge in Baltimore, or the improvement of the much-used rail system that cuts through his state or the improvement of the failing educational system in Baltimore. But no…he’s doing his level best to retrieve an El Salvadorian citizen…an illegal in the USA…and return him to his state. Would someone please tell me what’s wrong with this picture?
